Need help with internal mirror

Ok, i pulled my internal mirror off

The ball has popped out the socket. I've taken the housing off so i have the ball and the socket out of the car, but i simply can't get the ball back into the socket . I could really force it, but i'm afraid i will break something.

Is there any trick i'm missing or any advice would be good.

I need to know quite quick, before my dad snaps something trying to fix it.

Its OK, i just forced it in the end and it went back in.

I will be finding another place to put my furry dice in future
