Apparently, these wheels are called
"Baldy"
I'm afraid I can't find anything else, worth trying Peugeot or even BBS??

No, it doesn't obviously, my suggestion was to ask Pug and/or BBS to see if they can tell you.
You think this is a good place to advertise wheels that don't fit a 406? I admire your balls sir!

I still have not found out if they are 406 wheels.(there may be more than 1 fitment) And I am sure if they are not for the 406 thay are definetly pug wheels. There will be a nimber of site useres who run more than one car/model so I do not think I am being brave advertising them on the site !

They could always fit a 406 with rear drums but if the pad wear sensor wires are touching them then I suspect they'll be doing more than that if the wheels flex at all.
I just spent an hour trawling through
Service Box (you can pay me later

) and it does list "Baldy" as an otional extra for the 406

but not any smaller Pug that I can find. It doesn't go back that far though and it does list it as a 9606
XT, with size etc. 6.5 J15 CH4 - 18 (no idea what that last bit means!). Is this the same as the ones you have there? Also, that label, it's hard to read but I think it's just a shipment label, is there anything else?

The back brakes seem to be the same on D8s and '9s, just depends whether it's disks or drums.
Opinion? I thought they tried the things on!! (ps. tyre goes on the outside dear

)

Thanks for that , Have sent E mail to pug asking if they can help. The wheels were dry fitted (no tyres). I was`nt sure that there was a problem . I did`nt see the clearance on the back(d9 discs). However because the doubt has been put into my head and I I have used the same fitters for over 20 years and trust there advice.I will not feel comfortable if another tyre fitter fits them and does it because of the business regardless if there is a safety issue. After all they had just done themselves out of a sale of 4 new continentals ! Have took another pick of label do`nt think it`s any better. Thanks for the suggestions.

The reason for the wheels . I had been going to get another car after having 3.5 years without any problems. The cars an HDI 90 with 82k on the clock. It has never done more than 5k without a service, Apart from a cambelt and water pump change and a new set of discs all round, It has never missed a beat so I decide to keep it and treat myself to some new wheels.

We'e a bit thin on the ground just now, what with it being t'weekend an' all. Give it some time, you never know.
Maybe a phone call to a BBS dealer? The size of those wheels should be marked on them somewhere, are they 6.5J 15s too? What about the other stuff (maybe they refer to the clearance inside the wheel, another question for the BBS dealer). The new picture of the label is much clearer, unfortunatly I tried every single code on there in Service Box and again in Google (453 3671 is a bathroom shop in Edinburgh and a GP in Dublin

), all to no avail.

Had my turn on Google

. From what I can gather the 9606GT "baldy" has an offset of 18, and the 406 requires an offset of 15 to 22, so they should fit fine. I'd seek a second opinion

According to Yeomans 9606XT is the "Kite" alloy Supa
