I've lost a nozzle from the headlight washers now everytime i use them water pisses out all over the bonnet instead of the headlights, do peugeot parts dept sell replacements? if not where can i get one from?

Try e-bay, search for "406 breaking", lots being broken for parts.

They're about £1 from a dealer iirc. Mine keeps them in stock

Have you got the part number? Are they all the same D8/D9? I can only find the reservoir listed on servicebox! My dealer said it came complete with the cover which would have to be painted to match the bumper, so I left it blocked.

Urgh. I screwed up. I missed the "headlamp" bit... so to apologise for the false hope here's what I pulled off servicebox for the saloon (estate may be different).

D8
A pair of covers are part number 643890 £25.50
The nozzles are parts 643891 for the passenger side and 643892 for the right hand. £88.21 each

D9
Pair of covers part 6438E8 £23.32
Nozzles 6438E9 for passenger and 6438F0 for driver, £64.12 each

At those prices I'd check out some breakers yards or find a way of blocking the pipe. If you feel the need to get a new one, phone the dealer's parts department with your VIN number to hand as they'll have to order it in which'll take a few days. They may well want payment in advance. Don't quote part numbers at them unless you're absolutely sure it's for what you want.

woooah 65 sheets for a poxy bit of plastic for my squirter, think i'll have to find one on ebay or something!

do any car other car manufactures use the same part? i would make them easier to get hold of on ebay, i've known puegeot, Renault and Citroen use the same components before

The nozzle looks to be fairly hefty under the surface, well I guess it is a hydraulic piston after all...

Seeing as how Peugeot and Citroen are the same company... There's no way of comparing them though To make your job even harder 6438E9 & 6438F0 are D9 saloon and estate, not coupe (which uses the D8 one). No other pug uses them either

Last try: I shoved 6438E9 into Google but only got Peugeot results (if it helps they're 2,461 Rubles each)

At least you know there's no point in looking at coupes or any car other than a D9 406.

this is the bit i need, its also hard to block that hole, just tried a big chunk of blu tac but it flew out on the first test, anything else will just end up clogging it up permanently.

You could seal it with silicone temporarily
Make a rubber plug and stick a screw through it so you can pull it out, push it into the hole and silicone around the top.

May I suggest a semi - permanent fix for this problem?

If you measure the diameter of the hole, you could match up a dished type core plug that would be a tight fit in the hole, get any type of washer nozzle / jet, drill a hole in the core plug so that the washer jet will be a tight fit in the core plug or one with a nut on the end, then, using silicone sealer to seal it, knock the core plug into the hole so that it's tight in there....problem solved.

thats not a bad idea, I'll have a look into it and if i cant find a replacement easy enough i might give it a try
