according to this ebay ad the car this mirror fits HAS to be one with a memory seat, is this correct or will it work with a standard d9 vehicle?

That mirror belongs to a D8. That wasn't s specified in the ad. I can't see why the seat memory would make a difference as both types have the same connector

It'll work fine. The memory seat version has sensors on the mirror motors so that it can memorise and re-set the mirror position, the plug is the same.
