My 1996 2.1dt is(was) in almost mint condition. However, since I've been working in Bradford I have suffered a few scrapes due to the local populations inability to park. i.e. 2 people have reversed into each side of my 406 .

I have been searching in vain for a small amount of touch up paint but Halfrauds and a couple of paint shops say my paint code doesn't exist. It is M0KQ....clearly there on the RHS suspension tower. 4KQ and EKQ are both far too dark-even accounting for fading!

Anyone recommend someone that either has this code listed or would be willing to make up a good match. I've even heard it can be done in a spray can which would easily suffice

Surely there must be a can of aftermarket M0KQ somewhere???

Please help. It galls me to ride around with an easily fixed scratch on each rear door.

However, I know it's Diablo Red but metallic not pearlescent. The codes EKQ and 4KQ are both pearlescent and are very different from the metallic Diablo Red and hence no use.

I was interested to find out if any other people with M0KQ paint have found an after market spray.

Diablo Red is a pearlescent paint. If it's not pearlescent, it's not Diablo Red.

If you give us your VIN I can tell you the French name for the colour and maybe the British name

In the service record someone has written Diablo Red, under paint colour. I read on some pug site or other that the "M" denotes metallic which does make sense.........so assumed Diablo Red metallic. However, I have had my doubts as, 1. The colour doesn't seem dark enough to be very Devil like . 2. I could only find pearlescent Diablo Red listed.

I do hope I haven't got an extremely faded car!

Yep, that's more like it and it does indeed exist

I emailed a few paint mixing companies today and got this response from one.

we can supply MOKQ this has always been a troublesome red..as there are 4 shades..the code does not tell you the shade..we have the chips for the shades..so would need a part from the car to match too..to get it exact..

I have a small part of the bumper knocked off by a suicidal pheasant that I'm sending off so I can get a few cans made up.....enough to do the scratches, cracked bumper, and the brand new genuine Peugeot boot spoiler that I got off ebay for a £16 too.
