Paint fade and peel

Post by guernseyblue »

My roof has peeled near the back, and looks to be fading/fogging in patches. A small peel spot on the boot lid, and some fogging along top of doors.

What's caused this, is it normal, and can it be prevented and fixed?

Mine's a 99 v6 coupe, and one of those metallic blues no-one seems to know the name of!

Cheers

Sounds like a bad respray to me. The laquer is what's peeling. I don't think you can do anything about it other than spraying the affected panels.

As for the colour, if it's light blue, it'll be Ariane Blue.

If it's a darker deep blue, it'll be Polaris

Mine, below, is Hyperion Blue but that colour wasn't available until 2001.
