16's to replace 15's (Wheels)
Anyone replaced the Rapier (I think) wheels commonly found on the 2.0 Petrol Exec with a set of these? Im thinking the tyres with 55 profile will be too big?

Re: 16's to replace 15's (Wheels)
Hmmm, according to the tyresize calculator here http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html they are a little bigger than recomended. 225/50R16 or 205/55R16 would be more like the circumference of the standard 195/65R15 tyres.
Could someone with 16s as standard please confirm their tyre size?

Look decent, I double checked - the tyre size is 205/60/15.

225/50/16 is basically a perfect size match then. Oh well, now just need to find $$$$.

The correct tyre size for the V6 coupe is 215/55/16, but some coupe owners fit 225/55/16 tyres for better grip.

The wife's car is a 2.0 Petro Turbo. Thoughts on this for tyre size?406sri wrote:The correct tyre size for the V6 coupe is 215/55/16, but some coupe owners fit 225/55/16 tyres for better grip.

I have Coupe alloys on my Saloon. 215/55/16. There is only about a 1% diameter difference compared to the standard wheels with this size tyre. 1% is negligible really-it's recommended that you don't exceed a 3% variation in diameter.
In fact I got them from the guy on your ebay link. He breaks and repairs Coupes only, so has loads of Coupe alloys. He'll let you pick the four best ones!! Pick up a strut brace while you're there-they fit too (he might just give you one if you look interested in them!).
Definitely handles better compared to the standard wheels, and completely changes the look of the car.
