Hi

Recently bought this car and it came with the BPillar Black decals on both front/rear doors split and peeling. They aren't too far gone, but they will be soon. Aside from this the car is great condition so I am wondering if I can get a set of said decals and fix them on - anybody know where I can source these and are they trouble to fit? This is a May 98 GLX - I believe it's known as a D8

As far as I remember they're not too expensive from the stealer's, you have to clean the old ones off of course but then you might decide it looks better without...

Or you could go to any graphics company and buy a sheet of black self adhesive vinyl....

As Steve said though, people have taken them off in the past and polished up the B pillar and called it a modification

Thanks for the replies - been away on holiday hence the delay in feeding back. I will give the main stealers a try as I would prefer to keep the car as orginal as I can. If it turns out to be a "good runner" I may keep it longer than I had planned!

I purchased some from the local Stealers, £3.43 a door. Now all I need to do is figure out how to get the old ones off. I am thinking a hair dryer and some gentle pulling, although the ones on the car have perished and become very britle in places. Is pulling the Window seals back easy?

Hair-dryer to get them off, white spirit + rag to remove the sticky. Be wary with the dryer as holding it too close to the surface being heated will cause the motor to overheat and die (in other words don't use yer missus' posh one ^^).

What about getting some carbon fibre effect film. I reckon that would look pretty good.

I appear to have a caused a bit of a stir with this one. My wife wasn't best pleased when I bought an 11 year old car to run about in - I have now convinced her this is a "classic" 90's motor that is a mini restoration project - which means the decals have to look like Ed on Wheeler Dealers has done the job

I had a look at the job in more detail over the weekend (after I had finished pulling the dash out to fit replacement bulbs - we can now tell the time and see how far we have travelled - kewl!). It looks like I have to lift the outer black window seal (never done this before any tips?) and also pull off the thinner out seal around the window opening - again any tips? I suspect that one has been replaced by a previous owner how looks like they made a horses rear end of the job.

The outer seal just pops out with a little force. The inner one you need to remove the doorcard first and then again, it just pops out.
