I've managed to lose mine

Any ideas peeps?

For some reason, my car came with two - needless to say the other one doesn't fit

Might try modding it to the right pattern for mine......

Stealers mate, if it's the original they'll be able to get you another one once you give them your VIN, proof of ownership and a couple of limbs .

Other than that you'll need to use one of the other tricks like hammering on a slightly smaller socket etc...

If it's the original - I'd worry because there were two keys with the car, doubtless Pug will want you to pay for it even if you just found out it doesn't fit.

You can get tools for removing them, although I'm not sure they'd still be any good after.

I just had a quick Google and there's all sorts, the cheap one from Halfords looks like it won't do so much damage (unless the bolts were done up by a gorilla with an impact wrench).

Arm myself with:
a set of cobalt drills & 4 ordinary bolts.
Then smack an impact socket over it & attempt to undo,
failing that, in the immortal words of the bench fitting instructor during my apprenticeship...

Get yourself a Gator Grip doggy. Great bit of kit, assuming the wheel nuts weren't over-torqued my a moron with an air gun!

Doesn't it give you a warm fuzzy feeling to know that tools are readily available in your local retail park that'll allow the tea-leaves to nick your expensive rimz without inconvenience....

If you can find a Laser tools stockist,they do a two piece locking wheel stud/nut remover.Should be about a tenner.

This fine morning, I resolved to get some spare std bolts before having a go at shifting the locking one. My son had other ideas, waking me up criminally early to announce his car is F*cked! To cut a long story short it was a flat battery aided and abetted by a set of jump leads that, well didn't. Problem sorted after a return trip to Northampton, (where he works), methinks I'll nip into scrappy & get 4 bolts.....
Easier said than done. They had about 10 D8's, various 306's etc. but all had tapered shoulder bolts, unlike mine wot look like this or this or this

Anybody got some spares?

I've had 2 lots of these to remove recently, a Vauxhall Meriva and a 307.
I managed to remove the bolts using a large centre punch and a big hammer.(they weren't easy to remove).

Don't have any bolts, Doggy, sorry.

Hold on, that bolt looks just like mine....

It should be 12x1.25 where 12 is the diameter and 1.25 is the thread pitch of the bolt. Just so you know...

So, not actually 5 inches long then?

A year ago, we had a Pug dealer in town and another almost next door to where I work, now they're both shut. As I tend to work far too many hours, getting to one is now not easy.

..but tomorrow I've got to spend the morning in Cambs. & the afternoon in Staffs. so I suppose a minor detour could be arranged Probably no hope of a replacement 'ANTI-THEFT KEY' in one visit though
