Just been out with the girlfriend and swerved to avoid a dog in the road, went over a kerb at a give way point on a narrow street and blew both tyres on the nearside.

Just bought the full set aswell, so now gotta get over to a garage tomorrow with the two alloys to get thesome new tyres put on. There goes £70 of my precious student pounds...

Are the tyres actually damaged or just blew the bead off the rim? You may get lucky and just need the tyres reseating...

nope, the tyre wall is ripped too much on both tyres. the RAC guy tried to mend one but as soon as he patched it up and stopped pumping air in it just came zipping back out so had to tow me home :(

I split the side wall off my 2-week old front tyre on my 406 on a broken bottle in the kurb. It's gutting to throw away new tyres :x

I know this is extra money but it might pay to have the alignment checked because if you've knocked the tracking out then you'll scrub that new tyre away in no time :|

alignment seems fine but its going for a service in the next 1000 miles (about three or four weeks for me) so it will get sorted out then i guess.

paid £90 for new tyres today, inc fitting. 205/50/15's are surprisingly hard to find and expensive.
