Faulty Locked Shut 406 Boot Lid

Not sure if anyone can help but here goes.

For some bizzare reason the lock to the boot of my 1999 406 saloon will not unlock. In fact the key will not turn in either direction. When the fault first occured I thought it may have been frozen as we have had a number of very frosty days and nights but now the warmer weather has come it's still not unlocking. I have trued the original key which came with the car when we bought it and the two replacement keys we purchased.

I know I can get access to the boot via the back passenger seats but is there any way I can unlock the boot lid from within the boot.

If you can get inside the boot you could get at the bolts that hold the boot locking latch, take out the bolts and the boot will lift up.
