Rear light cluster replacement.

My nice mot man failed the 2.2 sri 2000 model on a cracked rear light cluster.Managed to get a replacement is there anything i should watch out for when i replace the old one .

It's a common leakage point; run a bead of clear silicon around the replacement before you fit it, other than that a pretty straight forward job!

He'll have only failed it if it's showing white light, so I guess it's pretty mullered?
Don't use silicone - it excretes water as it cures and this will remain trapped against the bodywork and can raise merry rusty hell. There are some proper sealers out there for the task, or if you're tight use some bitumen based drainpipe sealer.

I didn't know that, you learn something new everyday!
You mean that mucky old black gutter sealant? Good stuff but a sod to get off your hands! (White spirit time)

That's the gooey stuff chum. It's a bugger to apply but a wipe over the join with white spirit on a rag usually tidies it up nicely.

Thanks guys sorted two 8 mill nuts that hold the headlight assembly need to be removed and bobs your uncle 2 min job.
