My 110HDi LX Family
Thought I'd post a couple of pics of my beastie. Pretty much as I bought her at the mo apart from the strut brace from Coupe Ade. Got some 15" alloys sat in the garden waiting to go on (when I get time) & when I've got the spare disposable income I'd like to get somebody out to pop out the silly little car park dints & odd couple of nicks in the paint. Replacement interior will probably be a long wait as SRi half leather is like rocking horse poo & I missed a really nice set of grey leather from another X plate car on Ebay when I was on holiday in Disneyland Paris.
Tried attaching them, but got a message saying "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."
If anybody wants to see, my car (along with previous ones) can be seen here:

Re: My 110HDi LX Family
You spot correctly & it is a straightforward fit - no hammer required. Got a set of 307 16" wheels to go on now - as long as the 31mm offset doesn't cause too many probs.
Had about £700 spent in maintenance so far though, with cambelt, water pump, drive belts, exhaust, service in the garage & the new coolant temperature sensor & handbrake switch that I fitted last week.
But she's only done 82k at the mo so should last long enough to pay for herself!

Re: My 110HDi LX Family
Latest list of things done in the past couple of weeks:
New coolant temperature sensor - fixed the erratic temperature guage
New handbrake switch - got rid of the annoying BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW message everytime it went on
Replacement door speakers - fitted a set of Kenwood 6.5" coaxials
& Devinyled the door pillars this afternoon.

Only problem is, I really wanted to get rid of ALL the vinyl strips, but the rearmost 2 strips have fixed windows - anyone know how to get the rear side windows & little windows from the back doors out?

Was actually really easy. Took the wife's hair dryer out, but didn't need it in the end. You need to pull out the window rubbers a bit & lift up the strips at the bottom of the windows (making sure you unscrew them from inside the doors rather than just yanking like I did) to do it properly.
If you look inside the door you'll see the edge of it & if you're patient with it & pull a little bit of it at a time, the whole thing comes off in near enough one piece. Also worth noting that I didn't need to use any tar remover or spirits at all - what you see in the pics is exactly what was underneath anyway with no sticky bits anywhere.

Re: My 110HDi LX Family
Ok, got bored this afternoon so got on & did the rear pillars. The one on the end of the rear doors required a bit of crafty knife work (couldn't pop the window out to get the whole strip off), but the one behind the rear doors actually slids straight out from behind the rubber seal on the window if you're careful enough.

What's the general consensus of opinion? Better with or without. Not too sure myself, but I'd rather none than the horrible crinkly ones I had & it would be easy enough to stick some of that carbon fibre film on if I decided I wanted the black back.
Windows were tinted this week by Mastertints of Southampton for the bargain price of £180! Best quote I got elsewhere was £250.

Re: My 110HDi LX Family
Been a while so here are some pics with the latest "enhancements". First clean she's had in 3 months so not quite up to the same standard as the first set of pics.

Since the last post she's had:
Window tinting
Executive wood-effect ashtray
Coupe leather steering wheel
16ins Hoggar alloy wheels
To do:
Fit headlight protectors (thanks Plod ; ) )
Fit rear mudflaps
Refurb a set of alloys - got another set of Hoggars & some 17ins Allessio Polars, but can't decide which ones to use & whether to have a go myself as I don't get much time with the little man. The Hoggars that are fitted are quite badly corroded.

Re: My 110HDi LX Family
You wouldn't if you saw them from a bit closer. But I do admit, I'm leaning more towards gettting rid of the 17s & refurbing the Hoggars as they look the part, the wider tyres hold the road better than the steels did & I think the 17s may compromise the ride quality a bit too much as there's already a little more bumpiness with the 16ins Hoggars. If there's anybody near me (Andover) that reckons they could do a decent job of refurbing a set for me in return for keeping the other 2 sets of wheels, please give me a shout.

Well, after a week of hard graft & pi**ing about with wiring we've gone from this:

To this:

Still need to get the door card lights working though...
