Eoin's 406

Post by eoin27 »

Here it is at long last. Took me a while to get the time to run it through a car wash and take a few photos. Its not as waxed up as i want it to be but its alright for now.. Notice the paint over the reg. That happened today when i tipped a wall!! It will come off easily enough tho.
Image

Here's my 406oc sticker. I kinda fecked it up but i like it like this
Image

A proud car indeed  The wheels have been on it since new. I don't normally like aftermarket wheels but i think they suit the car quite well. What do you think? Notice the chrome mouldings and painted door handles and mirrors. A homemade job. I turned this car into an lx from an l with bits and pieces of my last 406.
Image

Here's the interior. Once again, the dispay and cd player are from my last pug.
Image

I got this car kit a few weeks ago. The display can be coloured to the dash lights in the car. If you look closely you can see 'Peugeot 406 HDi' on the display. Nerdy or what?
Image

153,685 genuine miles. Not a stamp of service history, but since i know the two previous owners, I can tell you that its been serviced every 5k from new. The engine defies logic it's so good! Just got another service today. Theres a lot to be said for an oil change and a few filters 8)
Image

More interior.\The A/C button is merely an ornament.
Image

I'm not into the boy racer stuff but i like reg lights you see in lexuses (lexii) and BMW's, I picked up a pair in halfords for a tenner. I think they look nice. The car looks like a hovercraft here too.
Image

Here's where it gets a bit messy. The door was badly scratched and i did a patchwork job last summer that failed miserably. Will cost €250 to put right but i'll wait till the summer becasue i'll appreciate it more.
Image

Notice the D8 mirrors. On the early D9's the basic ones had the D8 manual mirrors. I just painted them. I think if they hadn't the fin's they would look better than the D9 mirrors. They have more shape to them
Image

Image

What do you think of the wheels? Please ignore the filthy wheelarch

Just for fun, here's a pic of my Dads 03 2.2 HDi SE 607

Looks really smart, Eoin 8)
You've obviuosly put a lot of effort into it and it shows.
Like you, I don't like aftremarket wheels, but they look pretty good
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Cheers thanks for the compliment 8)

Any suggestions would be cool. I love what HimBigCheif did with his interior wooden trim. Seriously considering it. It looks bad in my one because i have no trim on the doors

Looks good, although personally I think the wheels are a bit on the small side, but that said if they've been on the car for over 150k miles then they're in bloody good nick!

If you've not got the door trim then that makes your life a hell of a lot easier as you won't have to strip the doorcards off and scrape your knuckels and fingers trying to get those goddamn push washer/clip/things that hold the trims on back off. I need a chrome Lion on my steering wheel too! :x

The car looks well Eoin, I havent seen many in that colour, ( apart from the one i seen for sale but thats 2 today lol) Brilliant job on the wing mirrors, they look like factory ones, as if they were always ment to be on it.

Ya, I like the colour too. Doesn't look as nice as a clean white one though. What i did was take the mirrors out of the car, take the glass out and unclipped the now painted parts, Then prime the plastic parts, two or three coats of paint and a couple of coats of laquer. Then clip them back in and put the mirrors back on. Big time improvement 8)

I've been trying to source BMW stylee number plate lights and do a thread about them, you've spoilt it now

Wheels look alight to me, look kinda like the 'Dealer Option' stuff from the showroom.

What are these BMW style rear lights you are speaking of? LED number plate bulbs? If so, I've already got a pair fitted to the Exec. :cheesy:

Me too :cheesy: TBH I got them for the front, but they were a bluer shade of chav, so I've 'hid' them on the number plate and ordered a 'white' set for the front
