A strangely satisfying job isn't it? I remember doing mine and feeling really proud.

So proud in fact I went to fetch Mrs Welly to come and see my efforts........I was most disappointed to learn that she really couldn't give a ferk :(

Sounds like my misses, she only knows my car's big and black, so anything similar nearby and she gets confused. Mind you, it took her long enough to realise it wasn't blue any more

Splendid work young feller, just one thing - are those screws stainless or plated or anything? Squirt some Waxoyle or whatever on 'em if they aren't. I had something similar once but the screws were mild steel, they started to rust and pushed the caps off which disappeared.

I Currently am not doing much to the car, would like to get the footwell lights going, have remote controlled lights and a parrot kit in, but these things can wait, the main project at the moment is the suzuki engine swap, so heres some pics of the donor car the vitara which ive stripped down to very little, and basically im just going to rally it round the fields until the petrol runs out just to get some fun out of it, then ill start pulling the engine out. So here it is:
Image
All that is left attached to it is essential for it to move, the rest has been stripped out, and i dont know why when i just need the engine but doing this has give me a box full of screws and trim clips that will be handy, and ill have a go of getting rid of some parts on ebay, plus with this much weight shaved off it i get an idea how nippy the samurai will be and it seems quite good. Currently the exhaust has fell off and it sounds quite loud.
Image
Ended the day with only the drivers seat in it, and the instrument cluster tied with string, its a vitara superlagerra:

Ill get a video up later, believe me it is fun, no doors is a good for driving, only problem is muck splashes into the cab and onto me, but thats why the shower was invented. Still a bit understeery but good in the straights, really cant wait to get the sammy going.

here is something i did earlier. Sorry about the quality, a combination of the 2mp camera, and the choppy ride which even the softer vitara cant iron completely, and i was driving and holding the camera:

Well my footwells are all a bit soggy today, i think it will require a bit of investigating, them new cill seals i think could be leaking through the holes where the clips went on, i never used any silicone. Other than that the boot is dry, the sunroof isnt leaking so i dont know what else. Pics will be put up. (might even sort out that signature)
