I dunno, the person i know who owns another exec has silver ones, mine were worn away from new so i decided to match his, they also match the colour of my dash.
Aside from a debate on colours, its definatley better than the worn out look, how they wore out i am unable to explain.

payday yesterday, so ive purchased the engine to gearbox adaptor:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... _524wt_907
and a new clutch since the old one slipped, and its going onto a more powerful engine:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 2715wt_907

This suzuki cost £300 and this is the day exactly last year when i got it, its had £50 spent on a soft top, £120 on a roll cage (essential with the samurai), and also included in the £120 was getting more vitara seats welded in, £30 was spent on new ht leads, spark plugs, filters and oil for the old engine. now with these 2 items ive spent the value of the thing on it which is an obvious disadvantage of dirt cheap cars, it doesnt take long to spend their value on them. Hopefully it should all be worth it, hope to start hunting these bleeding rabbits round the orchard, and the soft top suzuki is the best thing about for the task.

I never bought myself one of them LDR relays, but my dad seen me trying to make my own and got me this kit:

its more fun when you have to solder it all together, 30mins later:

so the circuit is finished, i need to get the multimeter and test everything, then get one of them plugs to connect the power to its power plug, then it should be ready to go into the car, thouhgh it might need a box but thats what tupperware and expanding foam are for. The footwell lights will hopefully be working right by the end of the week.

wait for it wait wait.......

and after that great mile it did this:

so there it passed 100k no problem though i would have liked a special tune to play when i did it.

to celebrate the moment i got the car a pair of new bosch conventional wipers £21 at halfords so not cheap shite, and unlike the aero ones they work.

discovered the problem with the circuit youll notice 2 capacitors, they dull down its speed, making it only suitable for turning on at dusk and on at dawn too slow for my use so it looks like i need to get something with faster response times which means no capacitors.

Neither of mine have been anything like 100K

My 1999 saloon, when I bought her, had 27,000-ish on the clock. Genuine mileage, too; she was immaculate condition, and had only ever been used to drive to and from work by its sole former owner, a rep for Brittania Insurance. They had obviously taken very good care of their corporate car fleet. Currently has more than 50,000 miles.

My 2002 Coupe, when I bought her, had just below 64,000 on the clock.
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

100k on a diesel is no biggie these days, my car had 88k miles originally and was imaculate as it had been used as the peugeot dealers car since new, then by someone who teaches, and now drives a lexus, and had an alotment hence the towbar, for carrying stuff on a small trailer. The thing is i bought it in chester, and part of the original tax book is in what i believe to be welsh, is chester in wales, because the people at the dealership sounded more like liverpudlians?

Do you ever have something heavy to carry, it takes both hands to lift, but then you need to open the door?
You need one of these:

Im going to reassemble the engine and gearbox, then have it taken to a friend who does fiddly metalwork to move the engine mounts. This engine better work.

i got fed up with the black rubber mats i keep above my biege and hard to keep clean carpet, they do their job very well but do look shite in a car with a cream interior, so i got myself a new set that match the set:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-407-406-6 ... 1555wt_907
these ones do the middle bit, thats the main advantage of these.

heres a video of the car idling

Its always sounded like this, but does it need a crankshaft pulley, i have asked my mechanic about the solid flywheel conversion he said £150 to put it in, so im getting it put in, new rear wheel bearing, and if it needs a crankshaft pulley ill get it put in, i dont think i need a rear engine mound but would it be a good time to do it anyway?
