Yes

The passenger is fine, but the drivers has a fault in the base

Will be a job for another day to take the seat out, strip it, and use the guide on the coupe club to repair it
Either that or just wire it into the back only on the drivers side

Bit more work done this afternoon, after my run to Kendal in the lorry

The 27amp wiring I bought was only 2.2m in length, so had to buy another reel, and extend that

The earth wires from the seats have been extended so they are exactly the same length as the live cables - the earth wires had been cut really short on wiring conversion

The illumination wires have been extended

In line fuse holder soldered to the 27amp wiring, and a ring connector fitted within the engine bay fuse box ala like the live feed for the seat electrics

Earth from the seats brought together so they meet up just under where the switches will sit,
another earth soldered to this, then ran to the dash earth mount at the top of the tunnel under the radio

Whilst there another earth was secured to the same mounting ready for the earth required by the trip computer

Live from wiring conversion soldered to the 27amp wiring for the live feed

Orange wires from the seats for illumination soldered to the orange live wire of the cigarette lighter

Now I need to remove the seats so I can feed the wiring along the lateral support, across the sill then back down the other side of the support, so it's all neatly out the way

Will do the passenger side first as the seat pads are fine that side, and I already have the sill cover off from where I needed to pull the carpet up to feed the live under it, to where the rest of the wires appear by the airbag ecu

Also, my boot badge arrived today
Not fitted, but going to post a pic on the saloon boot badge thread

Didn't get much chance today but bit more done

Passenger seat removed, and one set of wires fed along lateral support, along sill and back down the other side and plugged in

Drivers will need more work due to the element in the base needing repairing, so going to do that on a day when plenty of time

Boot badge fitted as well today after removing the laminating and cleaning the existing chrome up

I took camera with me today, but when opening it up to take the memory card out to download pics, i realised i hadn't put it back after yesterday
Thus no pics

From a distance it looks really good
Close up it's a tad disapointing with imperfection in the paint and bubbles in the resin

I seem to have numerous things going on all at the same time

Thought i'd finish some jobs before starting others i.e fixing the heated seat pad in the drivers base

Drivers seat out and wires for the heated seats fitted into place then plugged in
Drivers seat re-fitted
Radio removed
Air con control removed
Earth for trip computer routed up to MFD
Wire for 1368 routed under carpets and up to MFD
Passenger carpet refitted
White trim holder refitted to bulkhead
Wiring holders screwed back into place

I also fitted the new pollen filter - old one looked well past it's best

Just got called in for Bacon Sarnie, so back out in a mo

Can't make my mind up what to do with the centre console

If my loan isn't approved, i'll be keeping the car, and such want the D9 centre console in there
If my loan is approved, and I buy the 407 SW XS i'm after, then seems silly to spend money i'm not going to recoup

Anyway need to:
Refit sill kick plate
Front kick plate
prise out pen holder out of centre console
refit heater ducts
refit centre console
plug in heated seat switches

Will need to wait a few days before seeing my mate who is going to sort out the connections for the heater once and for all, and I can get the triangular bit of carpet back in for the first time in over a year

A problem I do have is that I bought some new bulbs, and the Aircon control has a couple out, but can I see which ones aren't working in the daylight? Can I buggery

Where's the pen holder in the centre console? I'd actually quite fancy that in my car as I usually just stick one in the sun visor.

Where the heated seat switches reside, in my car is a pen holder instead

However BALLS BALLS BALLS

The other week, when I had the rear calipers off Nigel, I had a check strap and a centre console
The console I had for the fag lighter plastic as mine has a crack in it
Well I binned the rest of it
Today, come to look at the pen holder, as thought it clipped out and the heated seat switches popped in
NO
On mine it's moulded in !

Guess what?

Yep, the one I binned had the slot for the heated seat switches to slot into :(

So I need a centre console after all, so i'll be sourcing a D9 one to fit into it

Already PM'd Ade off the coupe forum twice with no Joy
Have been on ebay, and the guy who sold Gary the wiring conversion for the seats is selling a D9 centre console
He's asking £19.99 or best offer
Checked his contact details, and got an email addy, and just fired a question to him asking about collection
He only wants £4.95 postage, but the misses is giving me grief about taking her out over next couple of days, and if by any chance he gets back to me and it's convenient, i'll go up there and collect for cash

I've also asked him for the secondary plug off the D8 MFD

FIngers crossed

Otherwise sill kick plate back in, foot kick plate back in, bulbs checked in the Air Con control and refitted, and radio back in
Wires for trip computer taped up and sitting behind the MFD, which I haven't screwd back in yet in case I can get this plug off this seller
If so, then i'll wire them into the plug
Which I believe will leave 3 other wires sorting out to make the trip computer work

Ah, won't be putting a pen holder in mine then. I've still got the airbag on/off switch in there on my centre console.

A trip to Ade the coupe breaker "on the way back" from Kendal ( Snake pass was "fun" in the lorry    )
and £15 later, I am the proud owner of a D9 centre console

Got back and got to work
I had a cigarette lighter off Omega as wanted it for orange plastic surround as mine was broken but turned out it was different
The cigarette lighter in the D9 is different again, and a tad smaller in diameter
I glued up the fracture in my orange surround, and had to open up the hole to get it to fit

Had to transfer a few bits over from mine, and got it fitted
Fitted the heated seat switches into place but not yet tested

A quick pic from off my phone

Wahoo
The plodmobile passed it's MOT today
Been advised to change the two tyres I thought I was going to have problems with, but other than that, job done

I said to the guy, I thought the rear tyre was starting to go on the inner edge because of the cam bolt on the horizontal link was in the wrong position
When he finished, he said, I don't need the ramp for 10 mins if you want to adjust your droplink, save you crawling around on the floor
I said, I have no tools with me, he said help yourself and pointed to a toolbox
Got a couple of 16mm spanners out and gave it a tweak
Obviously not going to be bang on, but did it by eye best I could, but damn sight better than it was

Was hoping to get the tyre Lozz said I could have and buy another the same and pop them on the back
Otherwise initially I was thinking of getting the Federal 595 215/45/17 V tyres off the bay for £103 posted but.........
.......then i've got to pay to have them fitted, plus either run down the tip to get rid, or pay them to dispose of them
I've priced a couple up at the local tyre place and they quoted me £120
I might see if they can knock £5 or £10 off and then it's not worth me messing about
Bet they'd charge a fiver each to fit anyway if i supplied so that £113, plus messing about with time and fuel........
No, i'll go for the trying to knock them down a tad
Sold some of my old rc stuff, although getting paid for it next monday and getting £110, so pays for the tyres - job done :D

You do know that the droplink thingy adjusts the tracking on the rear tyre too and not just the camber, so you may want to get the tracking checked.
