"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

It does seem brighter but you're not giving them a good test - it would have been better pointing at a flat surface, like perhaps a wall...FarmerPug wrote:

They keep chickens both sides of us here and I have one neighbour with chickens at my house, they get everywhere - I once opened the bonnet of my old Transit to find an egg. I used to throw them worms when I was digging the garden here but I stopped encouraging them after they decided all our young plants were in fact very tastyi asked a local food producer who appeared to make their way into my shed uninvited:

Re: The Car
i owned a defender, and it was no good off road, and too unreliable, the suzukis lighter and therefore more agile, and because they havent got a prestige name parts are dirt cheap.
thats a rooster, they dont tend to get ate their meat is too tough, but they can still do the one leg/deep thought trick of the hen very well.

Re: The Car
sometimes if your lucky and then hen is patient and the rooster functions correctly you end up with one of these:

having said that that come from my grandmothers hens she only had 2, and at the time i had 8 and still nothing from mine:

arent these the most comical looking animal ever to be given a pair of legs.

Re: The Car
They are quite thick, but strangely as a pet, a tame hen is very loyal.
anyhow on the subject of the jeep, waiting for a hydraulic jack to prop up the gearbox to get the mount into place, so i decided to fix the issue with the spot lights, they bobbled, bounced and moved like mad, and the main reason was they were badly mounted. Look at how flimsilly mounted the grille is put in place on a samurai, just one bleeding screw keeps it in place:

they were just bolted onto to the flimsy grille, and had a bit of string at the top to stop the lights bouncing:

but where this thing got used that didnt work.
so i got longer bolts and put them onto the brackets for the lights, then cut a length of wood, drilled 2 holes and put the bolts through, and also 2 screws put through the middle of the grille to keep the lights firmly on it:

see firmly mounted onto the grille:

yes a sh*t load of cable ties were used to hold the meshy bit of the grille tightly to the outer part of the grille.
so that was the lights firmly onto the grille but it didnt get away from the fact that the grille wasnt mounted to the jeep very tightly, so i conveniently seen these square holes mounted behind the corners of the mesh part, so i put screws through the grill, the holes, and into 2 blocks of wood i had at each side:

nice rusty screws to match the theme of the jeep:

and the grille completley in place:

still might need another 4 spots up on the roof.

Re: The Car
i purchased myself one of these the other day:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 443wt_1199
and as far as i can see in the listing it was for a 406, so it arrived super fast:

but no way is this for a 406:

70mm, and the digital calipers i have state that the bit at the end is 64mm, thats a huge difference, which caused this thing to rattle like frig, so its being sent back for one that fits, but overall it looks a bit better.
Onto the suzuki, since not much was happneing i got fed up with the rusty rocker cover, so i took it off and painted it:

looks better one thinks.
i need to adjust the clutch cable to set the biting point a bit further away, and i think a reinforcement in the clutch pedal to stop is swaying left and right might be good.

Re: The Car (and jeep)
you dont eat roosters, they are only there to shag the hens, make noise in the morning, and advertise the fact that food is available. With such an easy and uneventful life its no suprise i had one that lasted to 8 years, they age quite funnilly. They are a very proud animal, but my old rooster started to loose his balance, so he would be standing there proud in the normal way a rooster does, but then slowly tilt and fall, and just lie there, he was even starting to fall over when he crowed, this happened for about 6 months, he got slower on the feet, and then for the last few weeks wouldnt even get out of the hen house, so i used to set him outside during the day, and back in at night. Then it went very pale and died.
the suzuki has not got enough lights, needs some up higher, and a swiveling spot light (million billion candle jobbie) mounted up on the top, then there should be enough light. The altenator in the 1.3 had a fecked bearing and squeaked a bit with the lights on but even if it runs out, theres always a tractor to jump start it. Yes the light will indeed be used for lamping wabbits.
