I am not going to say anything... It'll get me into trouble

Btw, it's made an appearance again (abs not asses)
Anyone want a 406 estate 7 seater version?
It hasn't been back on since twice about an hour ago now, but I'm getting sick of this sh*t.

It bleeped up twice today, about a minute after the engine had been turned over... hasn't appeared since.......Captain Jack wrote:Balls. It did say intermittent - bad connection?
I am going to hope and pray it's off for the MOT and sort at a later date because with only 4 weeks remaining until I have to move - time is not on my side!

Stupid thing.
As this kind gentleman said yesterday, it won't be anything other than electrical problems writing our cars off - otherwise sound machines, piss poor electrics make them a nightmare.
It's funny cos until now, I never quite understood what people meant by French electrics.........

Oi, leave my bum out of this
Guilty as charged. Had to go to Warwick yesterday so only a small detour on the way back.
I had a dose of "Engine anti-pollution system defective" myself, which turned out to be the throttle position sensor as usual
Anyway: read the codes, cleared the codes, went for a short drive (that 2.0 petrol is impressive) and checked that nothing had returned. Not an awful lot of use with this infuriating ABS problem unfortunately
On the plus side, it was lovely to meet Sonia and learn a bit about these strange petrol engine thingies. What's most stupid though, is that what you get at a particular trim level seems to depend only what bits were lying about on the day.

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
My 2nd 406 was a T reg GLX 2.0 petrol which was 3 years old & one of the first D9s at the time & that was pretty rapid. The 0-60 times didn't tell the full story as they would lead you to believe that it was a bit of a slug. As far as trim levels go, it's all down to model year. My GLX had 4 electric windows, but no wood on the door cards, no trip computer & no front armrests, but I did like the older style alloy wheels better (at least until I fitted £500 17ins multispoke alloys).rwb wrote: On the plus side, it was lovely to meet Sonia and learn a bit about these strange petrol engine thingies. On the X plates (which was what my LX estate was) they started fitting electric seats to the GLX along with all the other equipment that they added to the LX which included the front armrests, trip computer & wood trims. The original Rapier was basically an LX with Corail alloys & front foglights, but in 2000 it gained a funky black interior & a sh*tload of extra toys to match the LX. It's the same with all car makers. Different model years quite often carry different specifications. If you'd bought one of the early Zafira Elegances (pre X plate) you'd find wind up windows in the back. Later ones were all electric.

It was lovely to meet you too, thank you for taking the time to come and see Miss Pug and use your tech!
Lovely to have another 406 on my drive.
Speaking of the test drive, found any grey hairs this morning?

I must admit I didn't push her as hard as I could of - you'd of definitely been impressed with that

As per car: hasn't come on since its hissy fit earlier.
I am going to tempt fate and put her in for the mot anyway.
Bit disappointed I've done all that work for nothing, but just got to keep our fingers crossed for Monday!
Hope you've sorted your problem Rwb, again it was lovely to meet you and thank you again for coming to see us all, I'm sorry these lads are bringing your bottom into this - I think they think I purposely look at people's bottoms

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
Some new pics:
FOG LIGHT (OFFSIDE)
Before:

After:

Where I've had her up on an axle stand for a while and now she's back down to road level on 4 wheels, it feels like I've slashed the springs
Looks too low
I will get used to it though.

Child labour!

Thanks to everyone who has helped me here, I support the forum, and so does Miss Pug.

Need to tidy this up before MOT:

Anyone guess why I took a picture of this?

Yes, I had the handbrake light flash at me and beeped about the level of the brake fluid.
Although it is NOT the fluid that is the problem, instead the handbrake micro-switch fault, it WILL fail the MOT on this fault, even though it's FOOK all to do with the level of brake fluid.

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
Had to change that on mine. The switch doesn't cost much & is a different design to the original, so once changed, the fault shouldn't come back. I did it myself in my car & although it is a bit of a faff to get at, the fact that I did it should tell you how easy it is.Sonia406 wrote:Yes, I had the handbrake light flash at me and beeped about the level of the brake fluid.

Which seatbelt is it that's knackered? I've got a couple of front ones, but no rears. Wouldn't have thought that would be a fail point anyway though - think it would have to be a lot worse than that to be unsafe.
