Re: The Car
Has someone slashed the plastic sheets behind the door cards with a blade?

Re: The Car
you mean the white foam insulation, one may have done such a thing with care but they didnt seem to have the original standard of fit, i did it when i put the new handles in (why am i spending so much time fixing my car and the fixing is me fixing me making any changes to it)
Anyhow they arent on 100% the passenger front ones not there at all i recall cause the previous owner changed the motor and just ripped all out. Can i get replacements?
After checking all the seals , alls good the boots not leaking, sunroofs fine alls good, but then i spotted this drip after setting down some brown paper:

so the plastic sheets could be to blame.

Re: The Car
That looks like the leak I had on my old D8. Next is to take the door card off to investigate further...

Re: The Car
Service Box - fronts 33 quid, rears 40 quid (how much?!!!!
), the rears are different for manual and electric windows (why not the fronts?). I see them on ebay sometimes.

Re: The Car
what a fecking rip off £33 for a shape cut out of something that looks like the waste material of packaging televisions. There is no way of getting them second hand i know for sure.
Is that actual dealer prices, does glue come with them and perhaps a solid gold box to store them in.
I might need to get the old silicone gun out for some siliconing to seal these up right, and a bit of duck tape, and spray adhesive to finish this off right.
What is the correct technical term for these, perhaps a seller sells a universal cut your self sort of kit because i have one completely missing and i suppose it deters from refinement.

Re: The Car
I think the dealers might add a little to that, especially if you forget to hide your Rolex

Re: The Car
Im a casio man myself, £10 for 10 years of timekeeping.
what material are they made from, perhaps ebay sells big sheets of the stuff and i could buy what i need for 99p, what sort of glue is used.
and is this actually the cause of the leak,is it running into the door past the seals. That water is a devious bastard.

Re: The Car
I'm sure that any reasonably heavy gauge polythene sheet stuck on with a nice even bead of some kinda sealant (perhaps something like seam sealer might work better than silicone) would be OK.

Re: The Car
There's lots of shapes on the door (around the speaker for instance) so you'll have to be a creative (I could be very creative if I was trying to avoid paying 33 quid!
)

Re: The Car
Thats one trip to the hardware store then, i had that stuff before its clear like silicone except very very grippy and smells like superglue.
I stuck the handle surrounds into place with superglue on the front doors, but thankfully it was lidl superglue which has failed to do what it says.

£15 and i would buy all 4 thinking still im getting ripped off, ill be creative, the 3 doors still with it there can have their seals repaired, then a bit of polythene will do the job, luckilly there is lots of offcuts from the time the mushroom houses were put up.

Re: The Car
Right i looked at the back doors. But yes the white things werent on right some tool had stuck them on using double sided tape which got damp lost its adhesion and let water pass. That tool is not jean claude, pierre, or vincent its no one from peugeot its my own self i did it, so again another problem fixed on my car and the source of the problem has been me.
It was definatley getting in here:

Some clear adhesive sealant not silicone was used to stick it all back on:
