Chief, can I ask what kind of paint and finish you used on your interior parts?

Halfords plastic primer, Halfords Cossack Grey spray paint (a stock line) and some acrylic lacquer that I picked up cheap in a motorspares shop as they had an offer on.

No rubbing off and no chipping issues or otherwise as of yet. Having done it before, it tends to last a few years before it becomes so scratched that it needs redoing. If I can, next time I shall try to do it in a dust free environment as there are little dust dots over most of the bits and pieces.

Today I've mostly been cleaning the car, mowing the lawn and fitting this Laguna auto-dimming rear view mirror, picked up for a bargain £11.50 posted from the Bay of E. Quite a bit cheaper than most of the 406 ones go for. Took a little while to work out which wires did what, but once that was sorted all it needed was an ignition live and an earth and jobsagoodun:

Quick pic of the car after I cleaned it (spent about 4 hours cleaning, polishing and detailing), then did a 25mile round trip to the farm to drop off the lawnmower:

Wow, not bad. It actually looks like a normal 406 auto dimmer mirror but upside down!

Well, got the track control arm swapped over today and also managed to adjust the camber on the rear wheels (I think, thanks for the pointers Teamy) so hopefully they'll start to wear on the rest of the tyres now. Also got these delivered from eBay the other day, personally I think they look quite good but what do you lot reckon?

Headlight eyebrows. If you're not noticing them then they'll be going on. :D

Not fitted the eyebrows as I managed to pick up a set of headlight protectors and also a set of front wind deflectors for the bargain price of £3 a pair from one of the local scrappies. Can't fit both the eyebrows and protectors, and I prefer the protectors anyway. Will get some pics shortly as been busy moving and redecorating the new house over the last couple of months so the car's a bit of a mess...

Been a bit quiet recently what with moving house and the missus expecting to drop any day now, but here's some updated pics of what I've been playing around with on the 406.

Healight Protectors - £3 from the local scrappy, bargain!:

Wind Deflectors - Another £3 from the same local scrappy, bargain again!:
Image

Foglight Protectors - Just under £12 delivered from the Bay of E. Brand new too:

Clear Rear Lights:

Black Mask Headlight - Just did the one so I could see how it looked. Need to get a spare drivers side light so I can do the same to that:
Image
Image

Powerflow Exhaust - I know, I know, it's a bit boyracer ish, but for what it cost me I can't complain. It's gotta be worth more in scrap than what I paid for it! I'm sure I can do something with it though, possibly chop half the tailpipes off and hide them behind the bumper?:

With the 309 & 306 outside our house:

And the piece de resistance, my smoothed bumper and grill. Done myself at home. Not the best job in the world, but not the worst either. Also took the vertical bits off the black grill. Not too bad for my first proper attempt at any sort of bodywork, but I may get it redone professionally if I decide to fit it to the car as I quite like the black badge on mine:

aaaaah I know what you mean now about the headlight masks. Is it hard to do? Im really liking the headlight and fog light protectors, great find and nice wee touch. Good job on the debadging too, seems to have turned out well in the pics, you should get it on lol! I suppose youd be best waiting until you have the headlights finished before you put it on. I did a wee photochop to help you make up your mind anyways. Also debadged the back too

Keep up the good work!

Cheers for the chop, always helps! The front looks good, the rear, well maybe a little bare. That said I do have a rear spoiler to be sprayed up and fitted, so maybe that may help matters.

I've got loads of other bits to do to the car, and I'm just waiting on the missus to drop our first sprog (currently 6 days overdue) and then I get 3 weeks paternity leave! :cheesy: Means I should actually have some time to do stuff to the car (assuming I'm not totally knackered and falling asleep all the time). I've just ordered some crystal clear side repeaters from eBay which I'm going to split apart and paint black then fit them. Should tie in well with the black mask headlights. Thinking about some tinting spray for the clear rear lights too... I've also been down to the local scrappy and they're taking me off some front shocks tomorrow, so fingers crossed I'll have the lowering springs on them tomorrow night (just bought some spring compressors from Halfords - £20 for some well made compressors, not too bad for Halfords(!)) and then I'll get them and all the other suspension bits (droplinks, bushes, etc) all fitted at the same time and then get it in for 4 wheel alignment.

Next job after that will be to see what I can do about that exhaust...

I'll get the front bumper and lights swapped over and some photos taken while I'm off aswell. TBH, I actually quite like the black badge look...
