Isnt the D8 coupe wheel better than the D9 coupe wheel? It has that indentation.

Cheers mate - I couldn't of done of it without you sourcing parts :) 8) :cheesy:

Yes, a D8 Coupe steering wheel I got off the bay for 20squid
Had a couple of scuffs when I got it, but used "Liquid Leather" cleaner and conditioner, and then "Scuffmaster" of which I applied 3 coats, and it came out nice

Bit more work done today

Need another clamp,but for now

Image

Need to tweak the mounts slightly to shift the tailpipe over to the right fractionally, but quite pleased.

De-cat'd it at same time, and the turbo lag has gone - spools up so much quicker now 8)

I couldn't justify spending £350 on a custom made system, so have been keeping my eye on the bay

The only stainless systems that came up were for the V6 and not the HDi

Dilemma was to either retain a standard system and spend at least £200 even on just a cheap system, or take a punt on a V6 system

Saw a Powerflow V6 system listed on ebay last week for a buy it now of £150 which seemed fair, but couldn't make my mind up.
Someone on the coupe club said he was buying it and sounded right as dissapeared off the bay

It reappeared on the bay on thursday for £125 buy it now or best offer
I made what I thought was a cheeky bid of £100, not expecting it to be accepted, but an e-mail on friday said different.

The misses wanted taking out so spent the £15 carriage on taking her up to the peak district yesterday and collected from Chesterfield at the same time :D

Spent a couple of hours last night with 2 partners - Mr Autosol, and Mr Lager :cheesy: and got polishing.

This morning went round my mates unit, and took the HDi system off and laid it next to the Powerflow.
Apart from a mount needing bending round 180deg on the back box, and being a bit longer it looked very promising.

Mounted up the powerflow, and just needed a mounting point removing on the car which wasn't being utilised on my original system, and then the flexi/cat pipe adapting.
As we needed to do some welding anyway, we removed the cat, as everything i've read indicates a diesel in theory doesn't need a cat, and has the benefit of spooling up the turbo quicker

My mate also suggested taking off the EGR and blanking it off
I know he's done it on a few other diesels.
Said it should feel quicker, but downside is a little more black smoke out the back

Any thoughts??
