About the front drivers door which didnt have any there at all:
Image
I took the be creative option rather than paying £15 to buy a foam thing, so i got a square of the plastic used to cover the mushroom houses:
Image
I sat the doorcard over the plastic and drew a line around it, i work on the principple that its easier to take away than to add so dont worry if its too big originally:
Image
Here was the thing cut out:
Image
I like putting a date and signature on my work:
Image
Get it on over the door and use a bit of duck tape to do a bit of trimming to get it just right:
Image
Image
Then i took the thing off, and put on the sealant where the protector will come in contact with the door, a good thick bead means a good seal:
Image
Then i put the doorcard over it, noticed that in the left bottom corner a bit of foam needs a hole, so i cut it out and put the door card back on, with a protector like this one, give the clips a good firm bang on, its popping through the plastic for the first time.
Thats it

As for rattles and crackles of using plastic because this stuff is thick it doesnt sound like a shopping bag and if it did my car is equipped with a thing that universally deadens noises its called a JBL amplifier connected to a cd player with status quo in it.

it already has with the back which was leaking because I (not peugeot) had put in double sided tape letting the water through, the front passenger side at least now has a cover on it which caused a small leak. Another problem i caused, that ive had to fix.
Ive got stuff in the post today, a tub of leather colour restore so ill show you how my seats are kept like new but the best bit is this stuff that come in the post:

A big electrical project is coming up, just waiting on the breadboard now to put it alltogether.

This is plan B of the footwell lighting solution, a ldr controlled relay circuit, it can be used to switch on the footwell lights using a ldr placed over the courtesy light, but with this setup ill be able to hook up another relay to the headlights that will turn them on when the car is unlocked. The key to the circuit is these:
Image
The circuit turning on and off the relay runs on 5v and these voltage regulators do this job, it also should mean that the circuit when not powering the light uses less energy than the thing that remembers the clocks time.

Im still waiting on the breadboard to arrive to build the circuit upon. But anyhow i started the bsi safe footwell light project without it.
I got 2 wires, about 3m put one end in the vice, the other in a drill chuck to do the neat twisty thing, and soldered an ldr to one end, put heat shrink and some insulating tape on it:
Image
Image
Then i took the courtesy light out of the car to put the ldr into it. To do this i unbolted the pcb with the switch and bulb contacts, set the ldr on, got some glue in (obviously watching none got on the ldr), and then put the pcb back over it:
heres the ldr wire coming out of the courtesy light:
Image
and you can just about vaguley see the ldr down there, to the left of the middle bulb:
Image
it sits in there very smugly, the pcb is clamping it down very well and so is the glue, also its even darker in there when the light lens cover is sitting over it.
Then i threaded the wire from the light, across the roof, down the a pillar and into the footwell where ill be putting the circuit:
Image.
The next important step is to check the ldr is working where its at, so i hooked up the multimeter, wrapping the wires in the footwell round the probe wires to check the resistance an ldr should have a high resistance in the dark, less or none in the light so here was the resistance with the light off:
Image
and heres the resistance with the light on:
Image
its drastically lower with the light off 77k, its also not getting interfered with light from outside either.

And then here is the power swich that will let me control wheather or not the footwell lights will actually come on or not:
Image
the other push button there with no label is the ejector seat.

I made the mistake of buying a breadboard from hong kong instead of the uk supplier where i got all the other components so its going to take ages to come here. But even so ive still got to get a 12v from the battery into the car, but with this system it opens up the possibility (im assuming its going to work) of adding extra lights that come on at the same time as the interior courtesy lights so ive thought of puddle lights in the wing mirrors, and perhaps turning the fog lights on when the cars unlocked, and it will all completley bypass the bsi, a proper middle finger to the prohibitive nature of the 406s electrical system. If it works that is.

The jeeps ran out of petrol so i started to pull out the engine which on a suzuki is a very easy task only spoiled by the sophisticated suspension (in relation to the samurais leaf springs)
I have no engine lifts, or car jacks, just one thing available, a toyota forklift, so it got lifted up onto axle stands, and kept it from rolling back with bricks:

So its now just held in by the engine mounts at the front, and the driveshaft, but whats this odd looking device:
Image
I quit taking it out early since the patio heater im using to keep the shed warm ran out of gas.

Unfortunately you need to keep working on your car in different locations - otherwise you'll just keep being interrupted by various different future "you"s. And time paradoxes destroying the universe.

i never thought of it like that i just let the bsi ensure that never goes wrong and how often do they go wrong, also the device for selecting the years is based on the com2000 indicator stalk.
