peugeot has no good current hot diesel hatch, the fastest diesel 308 is only as good as the middle range golfs, and the 308 itself looks like a blobfish, i want peugeot to put more effort into the 308s replacement and make something better than a golf gtd.

Strut brace finally sprayed up as BMW bright red wasn't actually that bright and had to get some more spray
Image
Sprayed the bolts silver (as a layer to protect from rust)

Well over due for a service, so a small trip later and

Also currently booking a cambelt change

DON'T USE THAT OIL!

It will leak out of every orifice on the engine! Get some 10w40 SEMISYNTHETIC! even 15w40 Miniral oil would be better than that stuff!

if you use fully synthetic from day 1 then it's not an issue.
These engines were developed in the 70's when only miniral oil was really avalible. Most taxi drivers run 15w40 mineral oil in these engines cause it's cheap and gets changed very regularly. Mineral oil is fine.
But the best oil for these engines is 10w40 Semi Synthetic.
If you start putting Fully Synthetic oil in an engine thats only ever used Semi Synthetic or Miniral oil it will fine it's way past the seals.

The petrols are much more modern engines so I can't really see an issue.

I'm going from Fully Synth to Semi Synth in the Focus cause it's cheaper :)

and a 8ish hour round trip tommorow should mean a change of interior
Note the non-head rest back seat

The bolts i got were pretty rusty so left them in vinegar for a week and they came up near rust free.
Sprayed them to give them a protective layer.
Also the BMW red ran out early and wasnt that red at all. I went B&Q and got a gloss spray 400ml can for the same price, much better quality.

Its finally on, a small bit of rubbing but nothing major. I have noticed the handling is much tighter but have yet to put it through its paces as was driving about in heavy traffic
