Re: The Car
for the suspension ive used hydrolastic, the engine is an oldsmobile v8 diesel, the electrics were all installed in the dark, as for reducing emissions i fitted some fap thing and just to be extra sure of its efficency i wired up a wire that sends a voltage spike into the electrical system when it clogs up. Really is a great car

Re: The Car
Anyhow, ive the suzukis engine almost out, everythings disconneced, and i tried removing it:

But its still snagged on something the engines not fully splitting from the bell housing on one side.

Re: The Car
Still no breadboard in the post. So the suzuki projects still going:
With some brute force and ignorance courtesy of a bigger forklift truck and a makita petrol powered angle grinder to cut the transmission tunnel the engine and gearbox came out:

here is the thing a massive 1.6 litre beast:

And the empty space left behind:

I dont think that vitara will ever end up on the road again, perhaps as a hyundai i10 in a few years time.

Re: The Car

and the gearbox:

The legend is back, ready to get the bigger engine:

Re: The Car
Anyhow heres tara (as someones calling it) stipped and sitting on the yard:

Now its ended up in a dump trailer:

and some big claw pinched it and took it away:

So thats the end of the vitara, its scrapped but heres the best bit, after me taking the engine and gearbox, as well as radiator, air filter tyres, and all the nuts, bolts, fuses, wires i could see it still wheighed 0.76 tonnes which got me £103, so in essence then ruining this jeep has gave me £3 and all them parts. Definatley one of the better buys.

Re: The Car
Theres a lot of reasonable cars in that scrapyard, one of them big brick volovo 940s just sitting at the top of a pile and in reasonable nick, a mercedes c180, nissan patrols which had been degutted in the same manner as the suzuki had, and lots and lots of ford tranists.
