Why don't you prop up the passenger seat to use as a reference?

That's the rubber seal round the top of the door where the door closes over the roof, right?

On the saloon the rubber has a groove on the back of it that fits onto a lip protruding from the edge of the roof. It's very easy (to the extent that even I can do it) to pull off and replace.

Here's a picture of where the rubber round the driver's door.

Obviously, on the saloon that's as much rubber as you need. I don't know what's supposed to happen on the estates at the top back corner of the rear doors.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

This is the passenger side I've attacked...... Last year I wiggled some wires under the passenger seat which cured the AIRBAG light for a short while, so with good reason, I attacked this side first
Lesson learned - trust me

I apologise, I don't think the picture was that clear.... It's not the part that closes over the roof above the door, but it starts where the door ends and goes along the boot to the rear of the car (estate here).
I clearly need to get a replacement strip from a donor car at a scrappy near me :) (and clean the car first!)

Missing rear end rubber

As a side note; would one have to remove roof bars to correct the colour in them?

P.s you can also see now why I'm after that pressure washer

Continued from Page 2:
Fascia Transplant, now complete.

Original stereo Fascia:

All these screws

I believe the new unit / crap fascia was off a NEWER stereo as the circuit board was slightly different.
Image
Yes yes, I know, I trashed the original circuit board... Didn't work anyway - well that's my theory
Image

New unit Fascia (Horrible!)
Image
Damage in postage:

Top and middle image: new unit with the horrible fascia.
Bottom image: Original fascia on the new unit. How much better does that look?
Image

I of course need to test it all out when I reconnect the battery (and sort the massacred electrics) I am fairly confident I done a proper job though.

I had to laugh because while I awaited tools to take the stereo out the car that original fascia remained on my kitchen work top for over a week, I laughed at my freedom and just how many women would of been moaning at you men to do such a ''terrible thing''
And equally, how much my ex would of been annoyed at me doing that - especially as the kitchen is extremely tiny anyway

On other news, I have decided to use spade connectors (fully insulated) to reconnect the seat belt pre-tensioners. I await rachet crimpers and wire stripper.
A member from this forum alerted me to the numbers on the connector, (7 and 8 ) so I need to see if I can match these up with the oranges.

My Dad has given me a good bollocking for playing with electrics, especially the ones for the air bags.....

Oh and my over alls came today, keeps one a little warmer I admit

I managed to take the top caliper bolt off today, with a little bit of a struggle but got there. I have a weekend ALL to myself with NO interruptions so I can spend it all out there, doing what I can. If access to the car is restricted I am just going to have to try my best.

Well... at the start of the thread she was clean

I kindly accept the offer of you bending over and washing her
I am pricing up pressure washers but may just as well get the sponge and bucket out this weekend as to see her in such a state is really pissing me off

What do you mean you color matched and  Explain yourself young man

Roof bars: I am not sure myself... it may be a case of using some sort of reviver over them to bring the black back but... no expert here so we need to ask around

A LOT of the roof bars on the 406's do this, It's real common

I used to use it on mine, but it never took long for them to show up their old faded selves again.

I did buy a set to get painted up silver, but after seeing the state of the silver rails on a 307 this week, I wouldn't advise that either. Best suggestion I've been given so far is Hammerite!

They certainly do. Ironically, while the 406 bars go grey, the silver bars on the 307 were going black where the coating was coming off. The door handles were going the exact same way. The SW is supposed to be more upmarket than the regular 307 estate, but I'd much rather have the body coloured door handles from a 307 estate over the silly silver ones on the SW. I could probably happily live without the silly glass roof too, but it does give a valuable few inches of extra headroom if you leave the blind back.

Scotty, I don't understand this Peugeot Kmp bleu De Rhodes-Met rubbish? What's wrong with ''China Blue'' as printed on the log book? Do they not sell it as 'china blue'? Certainly a gob full that......
I need a good pressure washer... hasn't been used in months and has moss growing on the outside, inside she needs a DEEP clean, seat belts are growing  and it's basically not a pretty sight. I will definitely try the baby oil, quite cheap and I wouldn't need it for dogging like you
