Fascia Transplant, now complete.
Original stereo Fascia:

All these screws
I believe the new unit / crap fascia was off a NEWER stereo as the circuit board was slightly different.

Yes yes, I know, I trashed the original circuit board... Didn't work anyway - well that's my theory
New unit Fascia (Horrible!)

Damage in postage:
Top and middle image: new unit with the horrible fascia.
Bottom image: Original fascia on the new unit. How much better does that look?
I of course need to test it all out when I reconnect the battery (and sort the massacred electrics) I am fairly confident I done a proper job though.
I had to laugh because while I awaited tools to take the stereo out the car that original fascia remained on my kitchen work top for over a week, I laughed at my freedom and just how many women would of been moaning at you men to do such a ''terrible thing''

And equally, how much my ex would of been annoyed at me doing that - especially as the kitchen is extremely tiny anyway
On other news, I have decided to use spade connectors (fully insulated) to reconnect the seat belt pre-tensioners. I await rachet crimpers and wire stripper.
A member from this forum alerted me to the numbers on the connector, (7 and 8 ) so I need to see if I can match these up with the oranges.
My Dad has given me a good bollocking for playing with electrics, especially the ones for the air bags.....
Oh and my over alls came today, keeps one a little warmer I admit
I managed to take the top caliper bolt off today, with a little bit of a struggle but got there. I have a weekend ALL to myself with NO interruptions so I can spend it all out there, doing what I can. If access to the car is restricted I am just going to have to try my best.
