Lol. Every D9 has chrome tips on the vents. You should go to a scrappy and pick some up for your D8. You'll get them for pennies.

Absolutely stonking car mate!!! I can tell you have a bit of pride in your motor. Its my favourite 406 interior by far. White dials, silver trim and chrome bits bring it bang up to date!

I think it may be possible to retro fit the electric wiring and ECU from an exec or a coupe with memory but I wouldnt have a clue where to start. I imagine you'd need to rip one apart to get the missing pieces you need. I doubt you'd be able to get the mirrors going on the memory too unless you got new looms but I wait to be corrected on that

I think Ade over on the coupe club does some sort of kit for fitting them (not sure about the mirrors tho)

Seat memory and therefore the mirror memory is one thing you cannot retrofit. Not sure why, it just doesn't work.

Adrian Bingham on the coupe forum does an ECU wiring kit which will let you connect your electric seats to a power source.
They'll work in every way but the memory function.
I converted my coupe from cloth manual seats to leather electric and got an ECU kit from Ade. £100 altogether. I got the interior for a stonking £70!!!

Oh, regarding the silver door handles.... there are a couple of scrapped 406s up near my area with the silver door handles. I'll see if I can get em next time I go along.

I do try,but its hard to keep clean in my line off work.If i`m alowed to drive into quarrys & park it safely away from harm,i will.I`ve lost count of the times i`ve re-attached the undertray or the black rubber strip below the front bumper   Sometimes the car looks like a off roader with the amount of mud on it.
I`ll post some pics in a min of my work.
For 3 or so years i had the same Hitachi 35 ton digger, mainly on hammer work(rock breaking, hence my name)A pic off my old 1997 Hitachi 330 with my 406 from 2007,& my `04 Hitachi 350(now sold & gone  ) in the snow. Its suprising how far you can get a 2 wd car through the snow
Now i have a crappy JCB 330 35 ton machine.

First pic was in Herefordshire, early 2007 with my old Hitachi 330,2nd pic was in Hereford in the snow in 2009 with my pride & joy 2004 Hitachi 350(yes,that is dark smoke window tints on my digger :cheesy: )& the 3rd pic is my current machine,a 2007 JCB 330 in Shrewsbury, where i`ll be all year.Compared to my now sold Hitachi, the JCB is not a good machine.Just not in the same league as my old Hitachis  .

Had my rear windows tinted tues.Much better now.Dark smoke tint, the one below limo black. Also now has a 406 oc sticker below rear wiper(thanks Dai :D )& fitted a new chrome oval tail pipe today to get rid of the rusty "new"one i recently had fitted.3"x2" oval, fills out the cut out nicely. From new it had a oval tail pipe that was welded on,but the exhaust tail pipe still pointed downwards so was a bit of a fake. Now its straight out as i cut the curved tailpipe to fit the chrome. Also, the Hdi badge on the boot lid has a red "i",from ebay for £1.50 :)

Tints were £200 cash from a place local to me.They do alot of main dealer cars.I had a look around at a few places first judging the work. The only thing is,the rear estate & tail gate windows have the dot matrix around the edge of the windows,so the edge of the tint does`nt sit flush over it.But it looks good & the difference in sun/temp in the car is good.Much better for baby :)
