Good job on finding a 2.1TD exec with only 61k on the clock! I thought exec D8s were pretty rare anyway, finding one with such low mileage is amazing.

My previous 406 was a 1999 V-Reg 1.8 litre early D9 saloon with LX trim, it had around 27,000 miles on the clock when I bought her in November 2008.

I more than doubled the original mileage before White Van Man ruined it and buggered off (no insurance details left - bastard) in October 2010.

The guy I bought it off had a company van and only used it for shopping trips at the weekends.

Looking at the service book it was a rep car for the first 3 years of it's life and racked up 76,000 miles, then it's done a whopping 9,500 miles since 1999 :D

Planning to fit alloys, parcel shelf with storage and blind and front fogs off my GLX before it goes to the breakers.

I'll be stripping my old car for lights, bump strips etc for spares and any bits forum members might want so give me a shout.

Engine is super clean, had a new rad and associated pipework 12 months ago, suspension is lovely, no knocks or rattles at all.
It does have a slight vibration through the steering column which is probably the exhaust fixing kit rusted solid as there is a slight exhaust smell inside the car while stationary. I got the same vibration on my GLX when I had to temporarily bolt the exhaust straight to the manifold/turbo when it fell apart.

Speedo is a bit jumpy so I'll take the clocks out and hunt down the dry joint.

A few new clips on the door seals and she'll be done.

I'll change oil, filters and coolant as I always do with a new car and it's job done.
