My friend phoned me on Saturday morning. His in-laws were out for the day leaving their ample driveway and garage filled with car cleaning kit free to use. So, I rushed over and proceeded to give my Coupé her first intensive wash, clay, polish and wax since last October 2011!
I used a Simoniz hand wash "gloop" for the shampooing with a woollen mitt.
A Meguires clay bar with detail spray for lubricant was used to remove a LOT of crud on the paintwork. I had to change bars half way through.... yuk.
Then it was another Simoniz bath, a good miracle towelling, then a very expensive polish that came in an aluminium bottle, one drop of it on the applicator was enough for an entire side of the car! This was then buffed off and a layer of Colinite 476S was applied to finish up.
After that, I changed the engine oil and took her for a spin.
Not a bad looking machine for 13 years of age.
