The TPS on my HDi 90 would show 98% when foot was to the floor but the increase in throttle was not directly proportional to the amount of throttle applied.
For instance I could put 3/4 the throttle on yet it was still only reading 35% throttle. The last 60odd percent was in the last 1/4 of the throttle.

Hard to explain.
That is something usually alterated by the driver's wish map in the ECU, are ou sure yours was not mapped but it was the TPS's fault?

I'm guessing it's real difficult to judge how far you've pushed the pedal too, Sam.

Anyways, not much progress as I spent the early part of the weekend suffering with 'man flu', (which seems to have mutated now as Mrs Doggy's got it too, though MUCH more seriously, of course). Sunday got kinda messed up when younger daughter's 206 blew it's head gasket, but I digress.......

Had a fumble around behind the head unit & proved I could generate bangs on demand by wiggling the power connectors, then had to break off for the next domestic emergency - you know how it goes.

Then, since the demise of the 206, I got to run her home, (to St Albans).

Now I'm searching for a replacement - she has a hankering for a 307 hatchback, of all things. :|

Sounds like our home, you have all these plans of what you need to do and end up doing none of them

Why don't you talk your daughter into a Honda Shitvic or some thing equally dull but put-petrol-in-and-forget kinda cars? (least she won't be calling you up all the time about this/that).

I was having to hold my foot almost to the floor are 80mph. Was like a new car after I fitted a new TPS!

Regarding the banging radio - definitely the earthing issue. I had to take mine apart and go through every joint with a soldering iron before it was cured.

The original Dogmobile would be a tough act to follow, but it looks like you've found a solid base to work with on that one. Could the stereo issues be linked to the JBL amplifier set up? I've had 3 D9 406s & never experienced any kind of banging coming through the standard (non-JBL) stereos on any of them.

It was me, but I'm sure that was on the "Shed of the Day" thread.

& for the record, I've not done any dogging in it yet, although there's more room for naughtiness in the Partner than there was in the last car I got up to no good in (Mondeo saloon).

Very nice indeed but this pic shows your night time intensions if you ask me.... Doggy by name, dogging by nature hey.

You could do with the famous chrome strip on there to set it off. 8)
