Sonia,
10mls of oil can look alot when it's been sprayed around by traveling along at 60+
Re: painting plastic trim, I did it years ago using vinyl coat 40 & it works a treat just can't remember how durable it is

That's true I guess...
Met rwb today, passed over my XP laptop and disks... Used my box with his laptop and PP - my box (interface) is working fine..
Hopefully this super star can sort it out for me... Thanks again rwb, you've been a super star

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
Right well, although Miss pug externally and internally looks a mess. I am making slow progress with her.
I can confirm Miss Pug is in a stable condition.
Parts I have got today:
* Rear suspension link bar (N/s)
* Top engine mount (please keep reading boys, I need your advice on this)
* Slow radiator fan relay
* Engine cover clips
After ordering the engine mount and picking up the link bar I popped into a local garage which specialize in exhausts.
I had suspected my engine mount was now so bad that it's causing excessive play in the flexi pipe, therefore causing it to sound blowing.
Turns out, it was simply a BENT clamp.
For £5 that was soon sorted.
I kept the clamp to show you guys, and those that follow my site the pictures........
I went over to Peugeot then, and got the relay.
I got back and fitted the relay, all very straight forward, but I admit had rwb not told me and Dave where those relays were I'd of been hunting for a while...
I ran the engine for a short while waiting for the fan to kick in, it didn't so we shall FORCE it to run later with the help of PP.......
It's at this point I must say a HUGE thank you to rwb for sorting my laptop and PP for me... He has been an absolute diamond for me recently, he did the original diagnostics, and it seems like he is always bailing me out
Now, engine mount, I am not convinced it is the right one, I am hoping you guys can say either yay or nay....
It just doesn't look right to me, but then - what do I know?
The engine mount I need to replace is drivers side, on the top.
it's a 2.0 petrol engine
Any advice on the engine mounts most appreciated......

Which 2.0 petrol litre engine? Mind you, the mounting is the same for both http://peugeot406coupe.nl/catalogus/D9G/1/18A25A.HTM Looks like you've picked up 17 but you probably needed 1Sonia406 wrote:The engine mount I need to replace is drivers side, on the top.

That type of mount is always hidden..they screw into the innerwing
You won't see them with the dogbone in place.
There's a special tool for removing them, hammer and chizzel gets them off better tho

To be fair.. it's not the easiest trying to explain to them... and even when I said about the back suspension bar drop link I needed - I was given something MUCH smaller, good job I checked the box before I paid......
Looks like I will be returning said part then........ May as well just go to Peugeot, at least they will know exactly which one I need!
Ha ha...... I doubt I need this one.. then.........lozz wrote:That type of mount is always hidden..they screw into the innerwing

What The EFFFFF?!
Right, yesterday had a big job on with Miss Pug.
With the help of Dave, we did my front top engine mount (pics to be added later) then did spark plugs.
For those of you on my Facebook, you'll of seen the photo of the difference in spark plugs. I'd bought spark plugs which were LONGER than the ones that came out of the car. For a moment we stopped work, I rang Jasper5 and asked his advice, he later confirmed the ones I'd bought were the correct ones. So Miss Pug has had the wrong spark plugs in her for god knows how long...
Thanks Jasper5
(This would explain the rough idol, sh*t fuel economy & maybe even the cut outs on a cold engine).
On another note, my rocker cover was spewing oil out, so much so to take the old spark plugs out the spark plug tool was covered all the way up in oil. Again, this question was posed to Jasper5, who said it'd ''smoke like a tropper'' and my GOD was he right Not only the sh*t out the exhaust but under the bonnet too... WOW....
Photos will be added of everything that happened yesterday, particularly the ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED engine mount, rocker cover issue (may need new rocker cover gasket), but at the moment tightened everything up to hopefully hold it in place) and the spark plugs...
Photos added:
Personally I don't know what you boys think to the engine mount but in my opinion I'd never expect to see it THAT destroyed.......

Re: My Beautiful ''Miss Pug'' [A Working Progress!]
Been playing with PP2000 today:
Activated the automatic window raising when deadlocking but it seems I am missing more wiring as that's not working... Also activated the alarm just to see if it did anything - but no
Engine off:
Engine running:
Is this too low for idle speed?

My thoughts too, if left untreated for too much longer there'll be nowt to attach to grill to ( look at the state of those mounting holes )Ares wrote:Sonia what about that rust there just above the grill.
