Our old 406 :(

Post by Tobys406 »

Here is a picture of my (parents) old Peugeot 406, which sadly had to be scrapped, as it had too many problems. I have some more pictures, but I just can't find them, I will post them as soon as I find em'.
It was a 2.0 Petrol engine, with all the extras - Electric windows, Leather interior, Electric seats etc. This was pretty good for a 1996 car. I do know that by looking at the picture, it was not in the best condition, but still, I love it.

It did have a lot of problems, here are just some of them;
- Driver's window didn't work
- Turbo has gone - Top speed was about 60-70MPH (2011- early 2013)
- Leather was slightly creased
- Had to have a replacement mirror (our fault)

It did sound amazing though. I used to rev it up every Morning, had so much fun with that car.

As I said, I will post the other pictures soon.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of this beaut.
For a D8 she looks pretty mint.... Such a shame she was scrapped though.

They were minor faults really, the petrol turbo's used to 'stick' or seize up because they only had oil-cooling and no water cooling.

Refurbishment of the turbo is fairly easy and certainly not a major cost issue especially if the car is otherwise good.

Oh well, bit late now and bit of a shame too. One of the 306 boys would've had the engine and box from you for more than the scrap value.

She sounds amazing.........
IF I ever have to scrap Miss Pug I will do so knowing I've tried every different angle to get her back from the dead..........
I sold my second 205, MINT in 2009, regretted it ever since....... I think I'm just weird though because I have an obsession with peugeot and I get emotionally attached :oops:

She was amazing, and probably still is. it's weird because, if I go on http://www.mycarcheck.com , and type the Reg in, it's still registered?

We replaced it with a 2008 Audi A3 5-Door Sportsback.
We also have a Peugeot 407 2.0 HDI, I will upload some pictures of it soon, but for the meantime here is the A3;
