This is my 1998 D8 406 Dturbo L.
It's the 1.9TD 90bhp Semi-Ecu Controlled Model.
First thing I did when I got it was clean the inside, you can see why :|

And finished after about 6 hours :(

Only exterior shot I got at the moment...

New Speakers were fitted...
Image

Anyway then my Mum used it for a week or so because her focus threw a rod.

Bearing in mind I turned 17 2 weeks ago and this is my first car I think it's pretty good, although abit weird. But I've never been normal?

Now I'm tempted to completly rat look the thing on the outside but I'm a detailer and I couldnt live with a rat'd car no matter how cool it'd look.
Now Quinn direct don't charge for any modification other than ones that up the power significantly which I was glad to hear :)

Now I thought the wooden dash and random grey bits of plastic looked abit old and 90's so I sprayed the greay plastics matt black and sprayed the wood silver. So far only the drivers sides been done
Image

So got an induction kit on the thing...
Image
It dumps back through the intake :D Sounds pretty cool  I sat at a traffic light in it today and just blipped the throttle just to hear it dump lol.

There was also a traffic master button that didn't work so I ripped the system out...
Image

I started using Millers sport four and for the first 100 odd miles there was loads of smoke which did this to my drive...
Image
After a second dose the smokes calmed down, the car is much smoother, abit more responsive and much quieter.

Give my fuelpump a good scrub today and deoxidised it...

Fitte George...

Well didn't know what to do for the cold airfeed for my induction kit... so for now I've got this...

:)

And thats pretty much where it stands.
Got other things I need to do.
Need to sort out my issue with the indicators as I really can't drive the car without them and they keep smoking :(
Engine mounts are pretty shagged and casuign me to struggle into third.
Got new alloys for it, need to get them refurbed and tyres.
Polybushes, Eibach Springs, OEM shocks, strut braces to stiffen it up abit.
New interior.
New stereo and got an amp and sub to go in.
Think I'l leave it then, might get a stage one done on the engine next year but 90hp is pleanty for me atm

Thanks for reading, all comments and constructive critism greatfully recived.
Bailes.

You have no visible ABS pump/solenoid block (some black box with green connectors underneath where it should be), and 4 brake pipes coming out of your master cylinder all heading back towards the bulkhead

when you change the radio, use 2 nuts on each arm thingy. mine kept having a tendancy to work themselves loose, which was quite annoying!

I'd like to know ho to get the radio out. I've tried two screw drivers and it wouldnt budge and the keys I have for my Mums car are for radio's with two holes on each side.

Nope, can't find anything useful online, the only philips removal tools I can find for sale look like this:

Maybe someone else has one and can help you "out" with it.

I'm thinking about snapping a key I have and trying to use both ends of that.

Interesting project.

Similar to the wifes car.

She is not a fan of the wood either. How do the the fake wood panels come out?

How did you find that Millers stuff?
