They never test them with the cars weight on them,

if theres no weight on them, they will feel tight no play,
once theres weight on them if there fubard you will feel the play,

ialways check them with the wheels on and the car on the ground,
not many Mot testers pick up on failing droplinks , ive had a few pass with fubard ones on,

That's exactly how I found out mine was knackered. I jacked the car up and removed the wheel to check the links (also known as stabilizers by the way) but found no play, it wasn't until the car was back on the ground and I was torqueing the wheel bolts up that the movement showed.

Two drop links arrived today. Box is branded Contitnetal Direct and give this address: http://www.continental-direct.com/

Any comments on likely quality?

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.
