... and that's why insurance premiums are skyrocketing, yet again

Sure, if you're actually injured, go to the hospital; if it's actually causing you pain and preventing you from working, file a lawsuit - but otherwise, you're just pushing up everyone's premiums (including your own), and invalidating your right to moan about the current state of car insurance.

if sum1 crashes into the back of me i know the 1st place i will be going
why not claim ? every1 else is making our premiums go up so with the chance why not ?

and its the dishonest ones that are making our premiums go up, chris's accident seems legit , so why should the legit ones not claim and let all the dishonest people get it all ,

I voiced my concern about the failure of the front springs on here not long ago, I was told to calm down as it doesn't happen that often...........................

What you've mostly seen failing are springs on very early model 406s - the one in this particular thread is P-registered, i.e. built between September 1996 and August 1997. This makes the car 14 or 15 years old. Depending on what material the OEM springs are made of (i.e. cheaper steel), and given the amount of salt and water encountered on British roads, plus the fact that the 406 is a big and relatively heavy car, it's understandable that the springs will eventually give out.

If you're really concerned, you don't actually need to wait for the springs to snap before replacing them. If you don't want to use OEM springs for fear of the same thing happening again, then there are a whole host of after-market suspension parts vendors who would love it if you were to buy their particular springs and/or shocks. Chances are, they'd last longer than the Peugeot original parts would anyway.
