steering rack balljoint , anyone had to change one and how easy/hard was it ? all info gratefully received .

if you mean the track rod end

changed mine when i changed my rack
soak the nuts in wd 40 the night before,undo the nut on the balliont,use a balljoint spliter,then just wind the end off.
count the number of turns and replace the new one the same.
then get he tracking checked.

no ,i mean the rack end .
I had the tracking checked and the lad told me there was play in the balljoint at the rack end , not the track rod end .
Replacement !
