Could be a loose connection under the drivers seat. Make sure all of those are in properly.

You sure you're not thinking of the airbag light CJ? :?

I'd take the wheels off again and check that the brakepad wires are pushed well into the connectors; may be worth giving them a clean out.
Welcome in btw! :)

Could have disturbed the ABS wiring and sensor - the sensor 'looks at' the teeth rotating on the driveshaft hub/ring. It's been known for this toothed ring to separate and cause trouble.

Sorry guys forgot to say the light was coming on before i changed brakes, thought it might of been due to the pads being right down, once the pedal been pressed the brakes are fine just want to get it sorted without the dealer price tag having had two 306"s swore never to buy a pug again here i am ready to part with more wedge.

If the ABS light comes on after the engine is started but before moving off then it is an electrical fault, probably an open circuit wheel sensor, but if the light waits until the wheels are moving or the breaks are applied the problem is with a broken ring, missing teeth or debris around the sensor.
If it is the latter then a good set of eyeballs will find the culprit.
