grate in the pedal

HI

My ABS ring broke a while ago and at the same time, as I was coming to a stop, I could hear a grating sound and the brake pedal would vibrate. My local mechanic said this was because the ring had broken, it was still spinning faster than the wheel and this was what could hear and feel. Ive now had the CV boot replaced with the new ring on but the problem is still there. Mechanic has double checked everything and the rings are fine now and when he goes out in the car says he can't feel or hear what I am. Has anybody got any ideas what this could be? Has something else broke when the ring went?

Thanks in advance

Mat

Not sure if what you're feeling is the ABS pulsing or a warped disk, you could pull the fuse on the ABS and take it for a wee spin (don't leave it like this!!)

Thanks Steve,

The car had new discs and pads in May so would hope it wasn't a warped disc.

Thanks

It could just need the disks taking off and cleaning up the mating surfaces. If it is the disks...

Maybe when the ABS ring broke it took out the sensor (although I'd expect a tell-tail warning light for this?).

Sounds like the ABS is being activated when you're braking.
