Hi All,

My 406 HDI has been complaining for about a week now by a knock when turning left or right, as It's due a service i thought i'd take a look at the spring whilst giving an overhaul!,

I jacked it up both sides and removed the wheels, having checked all the bushes and droplinks I truned the steering (From the disc) when I did there was a noticeable tough spot then the spring turned (more jumped) whichever way I was turning the steering, then the steering would free up (from full lock left to full lock right the spring would move three times , I'm pretty sure this isn't catastrophic and wouldn't endanger the family but by god its annoying, the spring doesn't appear broken :|

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not sure on these but could it be the top mount bearings/rubbers are gone essentially pinching it in place?
