firstly I would like to say hello i am new to this forum however have been a owner of 406s for the last ten years.

I wanted to know if anyone here has lowered thier 406 and whether they lost the comfort and how harsh the ride got if it did i am considering apex 35mm springs as they are cheap however i only want them do take away the massive arch gap i have.

Does anyone have any used springs to sell mine is a 2004 110 hdi se?

pug to be honest mate i dont think any1 on this forum has lowered their 406 .

i think old member doherty was the only one and hes no longer around

so the only real way to find out would be to do it yourself

ang on , himbigcheif has his 406 lowered , think it was more than 35mm tho

I think most of the lowering kits for the 406 take the ride height down by 40mm.

There are people who lower the Coupe (which is lower than the saloon/estate anyway) - I think they're nuts; I haven't done this to mine and I still occasionally get a scrape going over speedbumps

are you sure its scraping ?
it could just be the springs bottoming out

It's definitely a scrape - and it's only on the stupid "patch" style speed bumps, not the proper "sleeping policeman" ones that go all the way across the road.

The springs are just fine.

Seriously, it's the stupid speed humps; they're too tall, and they're the wrong shape. If I go over them in a particular way, it doesn't scrape.
