Handbrake actuator - 406 HDi 406 Estate V Reg

Changed handbrake shoes but Haynes not clear on how the actuator goes back - is it little prongy bit that slots around the cable nipple; slots bottom up, slots top to bottom or doesn't it matter as long as it's on (this is what I'm hoping for as I have actually done driver side with the slotted prongs fitted from bottom to top, so prong at top of brake nipple)

I've found two different sets of pictures which show it facing down. Oddly enough I remember wondering the same thing when I changed my handbrake cables, I'm not sure how I left them in the end (MOT soon so I'll be looking at them anyway

)
Btw if you put what your car is in your sig you won't need to write it every time you make a new thread
