They adjust from the fixing bolt which has an offset centre line.
Tippex up the old position before removing your link.
The bolt stays in the same position but the bushes wear.causing the inner wear probs.
As you twist the bolt the track moves in and out.

Its no myth!

Got the same job waiting for me :D
Bought new eccentric bolts just for that. But still have to use the !old spacer and nut!. So if you cut the bugger, don't cut the spacer and nut.
