been doing a bit of searching since i bought a set of 16" vulcan alloys.

it seems peugeot make a 6.0J x 15"

and a 6.5J x 16" along with a 5.0J x 13"

what does this mean ? i have no clue about wheels ?

First number is the width of the rim Gary

I don't think it is, but it's close to width in inches

Doesn't the 406 allow for ET of 15-25?
206 is ET 20-25 I believe

So in theory could be same wheel

It's usually stamped on the inside of the rim

If you're going by those online fitment guides, they're utter bo**ocks for offsets. 206 & 307 wheels have a masssively different offset to 406 ones (which have a ridiculously small offset anyway), but according to those fitment guides all Peugeots & Citroens are 15-25mm. My Hoggar & Nautilus wheels are a 12mm offset. Those Ebay Vulcans are 99.9% dead cert 406 fitment. The tyre size is a dead giveaway as 215/55s are way too big to have been original fitment for anything smaller.

The offset is 13 to 23 and those wheels are for 406's , the correct tyre
size is 205 x 55 x 16 which i have but dont see 215's being a problem .

They used 205/55s on all the saloons & estates with 16s (SRi, S, SE & late Execs), but for some reason Coupes all have 215/55s. I've got 215/55s on mine & never had a problem. Slightly less room to get your hands in to clean out the arches, but that's it. Next time I have to buy tyres (which won't be for a while as I still have good tyres on a good set of Hoggars) I'll be whacking on some 225/50s to give a better footprint & protect the wheels a bit.

just looking at tyres myself for the vulcans.

i will leave the 215s on cos there new but next time round i will put 205s on.

this guy in macclesfield is probably the best priced tyre garage in england. ive been to him before for a set of 4 tyres a few years ago.

look at these , 4 brand new budget tyres for 144 quid carnt beat that

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/205-55VR16-INFINI ... 2c5c6212a2

my tres now 205 60 15 seem to be higher in price than the 16s tyres. the 16s must be more popular hence cheaper in price.
