New Car (to me at least)

Well I finally gave up on the old 406 at 218,000 and some decidedly holey sills - stripping it down for parts for sale and to keep.
Now moved on to a GLX (oooh, the luxury) but still a 90, although now with com2000 (oh dear). It has less than 140,000 miles on the clock (I've never owned a 406 with so little mileage) and is a few years newer.
'New' car has got some decidedly dodgey paint on the front wings, bonnet and bumper so looking at replacing/spraying/living with the horrid truth that it's a little bit too untidy for my liking. Going to attempt to dry ice some of the minor dents out, see if I can't make it look a little bit closer to pristine.
Just getting the interior all sorted, changing dash bulbs etc (because they've blown, not because I want to tart it up or change them to ice blue or anything). Quite a few of the retaining clips for the headrests are broken so the headrests won't stay up - does anybody know if its possible to change them?
Also central locking doesn't work very often, think it's either the nearside front door lock sticking (it's quite stiff) or it's the door solenoid so will have to work on that asap as disconnecting the battery to lock all the doors looks a little naff.
The rear windows go up and down very slowly, I don't know whether this is due to under or over use - does anyone have any recommendations on how to improve/service them or is it just replacement motors?
The metal and rubber trim that goes below the windows has bubbled up quite badly in places - can you buy this separately and can it be bought quite cheaply - it does look rather unsightly!
Also the front is a bit squirmy, the tyres are a bit cack, and for some reason the radial rears are on the wrong side, still seems a little bit too squirmy despite these factors - oh, and having alloys is a right pain with the different wheel nuts and the locking nut - seriously tempted to go back to steels, would make me happier (speaking of which does anyone have any wheel nuts they want shot of, I'd rather put steels on with the proper steel wheel nuts rather than the alloy ones - I have a set of winter tyres on steels still you see)!
Anyway, I'll be tweaking and tidying at the weekend and reporting back then. All the best, Phil
P.s. When did he tax for the post March 2001 406's go up from £125 to £165 - I feel robbed!
