brake disc painting?

got a couple of decent rear discs that i have taken of one of my spare cars so to save them rusting i was going to wipe them over with some oil and store them in the garage but my mate says just give them a quick coat of spray paint as oil isnt a good idea on brakes and the paint will rub off easy when you use them.so it sort of makes sense but seams strange to paint discs.
any thoughts?

hi - You couid spray them. but your best off using high temp Engine paint or itl just burn off but it wouid wouid most probs burn that off too eventualy,

All brake discs leave the factory with a coating of oil on them to prevent them rusting whilst there on there premises,
so a coating of 3 in 1 oil or simalar wouidnt do any harm iwouidnt think
