has anyone else had this? now this pug of mine is a good one and never failed an mot like this,

i removed the sub frame last week to do a clutch now its failed the mot on the very bits that i removed,




002 o/s /f (lower arm rear bush) suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated resulting in movement,

003 same but other side,

004 n/s /f anti roll bar linkage has excessive play in a ball joint,

?

Both common failures I would say.

ARB drop links are easy enough, can get messy if bolts are corroded.

Lower arm rear bush commonly wears, particuarly if they have previously been replaced with a low quality part, or if the arm has been rebushed and not aligned correctly. You can buy the bush on it's own, or the complete arm. The bush is obviously a lot cheaper, but more work. If you decide to rebush the existing arm, it is very important that the bush is aligned correctly so that it's in a neutral position at normal ride height. Otherwise the bush is stressed most of the time and wears out very quickly. There should be an alignment mark on the replacement bush.

In both cases get a decent quality part or you'll just be having to do the same thing again in a few months. I purchased Motaquip lower arms at £47 each and drop links at £9 each off a parts dealer on ebay. Having rebushed arms in the past, I personally just stump up the extra for a complete arm.

You will also require wheel alignment after replacing the arm bushes

well its all sorted now off to get a retest today,wish me luck,not that ill need it peugeot will find something else wrong as its a new mot,

I just noticed that you removed the subframe to do the clutch, what engine is in yours?
