Heavy clutch pedal.

I have 1996 1.9 diesel Executive.

Recently I have notice the clutch pedal can be quite heavy to depress, particularly if the car has not been used for a couple of days. It eases off with use.
The clutch works ok and there are no other problems.

Anyone had this before and is it a warning sign?

Regards,
colin.

This is a problem with nearly all RHD Peugeots with a cable clutch.

The cable sheeth has a gel in it to lubricate the cable. This passes over the turbo and exhaust manifold which is very hot which dries the gel up.

Worse case scenario is the cable snapps but these engines are easy as hell to drive with no clutch! I did nearly 1000miles without one

I replaced my cable but a few weeks later it started to go stiff again, it's just the nature of the beast unfortunatley.

Thanks for that.
At least I know what to expect.

If it last a couple of months, a service will be due and I will do it then.

Regards, Colin.
