Just fitted a strut brace to my car but it's pushing my bonnet up have a done some thing wrong ?

I think the general advice here is, to quote someone else, "when in doubt, hit it with a hammer".

More usefully, search this forum for "strut brace hammer" and you'll see some posts on it. They do need to be persuaded to fit under the saloon bonnet, but it will fit.

Did you use longer bolts?

No Kent who I brought it off used the originals and said his was fine but they seem to be ok don't look to short

the standered bolts do fit, but they dont go in to the top mount far enough the ensure that brace can work at its best

Get new bolts. Short ones will ruin the thread with time, they really can catch the thread for 1 or two revolutions max, it's not enouth.

To be honest my strut brace was fitted without the use of a hammer, it just went in with no problem.

Has any one got any of theses longer bolts ? Mine needs a right good wack the bonnet is up a fair bit
