Lower control arm bush

1998 406 Break 1.8 16v

The rear mounting bush on my left hand front lower control arm has worn out and is causing noise.

Parts here are very expensive so I have taken to ebay for a replacement.

I found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-406-F ... 416ca6b8e8

Can any one tell me if this is the right part and if it just slips over the end of the arm and bolts down or do I need some special tool to fit it.

The haynes manual is essentially useless on this but looking at the car it visualy looks like if I just remove the two mounting bolts it will slip off the end of the arm and the new one will slip on.

Yes that's the right one but it can be hard to get the old 1 off

I suppose warming it up with a blow torch should aid in removal?

Thanks for that.

I have used that procedure before, the only thing I would do different to that video is when hammering the new one on I would hever hammer directly on the end of it like that.

The risk is too high of the hammer hitting off center and damaging the new bushing, I would always put a piece of wood on the end of the bushing and hit that, then there is no risk of damage
