Hi mate - a common problem, but sadly good condition backplates without a gaping hole for the spring clip are hard to find.

You can get away with a slim bolt with a tapered head ( screwdriver type ) through the spring, and a nylok nut and washer on the other end - just not too tight. Its a bit hard to get to but its a good fix...
